About Us

Stay At Home music is a service dedicated to providing enjoyable and affordable private music lessons in the comfort of your own home. Being the first dedicated ‘at home’ music school to open its doors in Toronto in the summer of 2002, we have been at this for awhile and have used this time to really explore how we can make the music lesson experience fun as well as educational at the same time. And what we have found is that while there are many methods and paths a student can take while exploring an instrument ( ie – RCM, Pop/Contemporary etc…), the first step to ensuring success is a great match with an equally great instructor. And this is where we put most of our energy.

We work with instructors who have degrees in music from post-secondary institutions. They are patient, well rounded, talented (many of them who have become extremely successful in the music industry today), personable and most importantly, instructors who understand how to ‘teach’ and not just ‘play’. There are wonderful and talented players out there, who might not understand how to explain concepts to a young beginner in a clear and easy to understand way. At Stay At Home Music, we value the student/teacher connection above all else, and work with instructors who care, and who understand the positive impact they can have on their students. We want all of our students to LOVE music. That’s the goal. And we believe that finding the right connection between teacher and student is the best way to make that happen.
